About Me
My name is Luis Ortet, and I am the founder and managing director of Delta Publish Ltd (Delta Edições Lda). I was the editor-in-chief of Macau magazine (Portuguese language edition) during the 16 years Delta Edições produced and distributed the magazine for the MSAR Government.
I have been a professional journalist and editor-in-chief of Portuguese-language newspapers in Macao, namely Ponto Final weekly newspaper in the 1990s, and a correspondent in Macao for the weekly newspaper Expresso, from Portugal.
Among other books written in Portuguese, I am the author of As Mil Faces da Lua ("The Thousand Faces of the Moon"), which explores the universe of Chinese beliefs and superstitions in Macao.
In addition, I have published numerous articles and research papers on traditional Chinese culture and the history of Macao.
My main interests include the Chinese culture, the Chinese language and etymology, and the history of thought, especially divination, as viewed by both ancient China and classical Greece.

About Delta Publish LTD.
Delta Publish Ltd. (the official name in Portuguese is Delta Edições, Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda.) was founded in 2005 in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) of the People's Republic of China. That same year, the MSAR Government selected Delta Publish in a public tender to produce and distribute the Macau magazine (Portuguese version).The company continued to produce and distribute the magazine through 2021.
Also as a result of a public tender, the company prepared and produced, in Chinese and Portuguese, the monthly newsletter of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and the Countries of Portuguese language, headquartered in Macao SAR.
Delta Publish has supported research projects in the history of Macao, having carried out, in 2014, at the request of Macao Water, the concessionaire for the water supply to Macau, a research into the history of water supply to Macau in the last hundred years. Since its founding, Delta Publish has published or directed the publication of several books, in Chinese, English, and Portuguese, on topics relating to history, politics, culture, and the communities that have lived together in Macao for centuries.
More recently, Delta Publish has been investing in the development of projects in the English language, targeting the global market, related to the dissemination of traditional Chinese culture and the parallels between it and certain schools of thought of Western Classical Antiquity. A website, books, and mobile applications will be the most visible results of this investment.
Project Timeoracle
This website is part of the broader work of Project TimeOracle, sponsored by Delta Publish Ltd., which has as its primary goal the study of the different resources Humanity has been exploring over the millennia and in diverse cultures, intending to learn how to deal with the unpredictability and the imponderable in life.
This includes religions, other systematized views of life, and various divination practices in the East and West. We will carry out this work through multiple projects under development.
We understand that science and the scientific spirit have significantly and positively contributed to making our lives more comfortable and less painful, introducing a certain degree of predictability. Still, it is crucial to go a bit further, including exploring universes that, at least until now, are beyond the reach of science's current intellectual and physical instruments.
Studying and disseminating past and present beliefs and speculations within the scope of the history of ideas naturally fit into our approach.
The team involved in the Project TimeOracle includes Chinese and Westerners either living in China or with some degree of familiarity with Chinese culture.

The application Life Pillars is inspired by an ancient Chinese science, known as Bazi 八字 or Sizhu 四柱, that sees time as a source of meaning and not as a mere succession of seconds, minutes, and hours.
In other words, each moment is seen not just as a meaningless mathematical abstraction but as the reflection of a specific configuration of the universal energy Qi 气, which underlies everything that exists or happens.
What is born at a given moment (such as, for example, a human life) absorbs and reflects the state of Nature and the Cosmos at that very moment. Hence, many believe it is possible to obtain some information about people's lives and their personalities based on the moment and place of their birth.
This report presents the main personality forces that tend to dominate your behavior.
For some, it may be a mere curiosity and entertainment. But, for others, it could be something more serious, a gateway to a rich universe of wisdom and spirituality.
Note for those already familiar with the Chinese Bazi 八字 technique: this application calculates the "four pillars" of birth of the person (correcting the birth time to get the true birth time) but it should not be seen as a reading of the Bazi chart as a whole. The Life Pillars application selects some of the main driving forces of the Bazi chart, namely the Day Master, the main qi of the earthly branch of the Month, and those "ten gods" (profiles) shishen 十神 that have a root.
